‘Tis the season to sparkle! Even though I say sparkle all year long…this is the time of year to go a little overboard. It is a time to celebrate and shine. So go ahead and throw on that sparkle top or glitter up your home. The twinkle will create smiles and spread joy. And we can all use more joy!
Since the holidays are personal, we decided to open up parts of our home to share this month at The Thread Talks. Although our home is not for sale, we hope it will inspire you to add a little sparkle into your home this month or help give you creative ways to transform a new home. So…let’s explore and get ready for those holiday parties!

Let’s start with the symbol of the Christmas season…the Christmas Tree! It is my favorite part of the holiday décor. Whether it is big or small, consistent décor or a half hazard display…I love it all! Why? Because the décor of the tree is a personal symbol of you. It is an expression of who we are…or at least what we are feeling for the year. So do not feel like it has to be perfect or color coordinated. Create what you are feeling at that moment. There are no rules.
With all transparency, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed this year. So, I decided to get a smaller tree and add a lot of sparkle to help elevate the mood. And it worked. I did not unload all the boxes and kept it small and consistent. Which is also what my daughter and I did with our outfits. We paired jeans and leggings with sequined tops and viola…mood elevated!

For other parts of the house, we added just small touches of sparkle in the accessories. Keeping everything clean and uncluttered (helps the overwhelmed brain), with holiday cheer sprinkled throughout (creating smiles).

Going to a holiday party or looking to make a splash…we have a few ideas for you. Emma and I are both ready for a night on the town and sparkling from head to toe. Entertaining by the piano at home, you can add glowing garland or glitter candles to elevate the seasonal vibe.

The Thread Talks sincerely wishes you and your family a very Merry Christmas! We will see you in the New Year! Now go and sparkle!
