The Thread Talks brings you part 2 of the red, white, and black...with a twist. One thing I love about black, white, and red solids is the versatility. Change one accessory and you have a whole new look. In a house…Buy a white couch, then change the pillows every month for a different look and feel. Black coffee table? Display a variety of flowers for a different look. You would be surprised how a vase of sunflowers gives a different feel than roses.

This month, we continue our shoot in this gorgeous Scottsdale home listed by Ross Greenberg with Local Board Real Estate. We start in this incredible black and white kitchen where they used gold accents in the hardware and lighting. Hardware is such an integral part of design. It is the narrator of the story of the space. It is one of the easiest things to change in a home to give the space a whole new look. So, if gold is not your thing, change it out.

This stunning kitchen was also the perfect backdrop for Emma’s bold red dress. Here she is showing it off with a soft studded leather belt and black boots. Change out the belt or remove it for a completely different look. Style with flats for a modern Audrey Hepburn look.

Next, we move outdoors to enjoy the sunshine in this black and white dress by Ted Baker…worn two ways. Emma is styling it with Miz Mooz boots for a more casual daytime look. We simply changed out the shoes and lifted the hair for a nighttime style in Tracy’s look.

And last is the little black dress…. the staple in every woman’s wardrobe. (I think I have more than 10 little black dresses…but who’s counting)

What we love about a little black dress is the versatility. The accessories set the tone for the use. Having a fancy dinner party and feeling fun? Pair it with a colorful necklace and shoes. Feeling casual and cool? Pair with a simple necklace and tennis shoes. Just like your clothes…do this with your interior. Have a white dining table? Choose bright color chairs to be bold. Want a more subtle look? Choose black or grey chairs. The chairs are an accessory to the table…so have fun!
