This month at The Thread Talks, we are in a truly special home. It is a home like no other I have seen...and I have seen a LOT of homes in my real estate career! It is located in the prestigious Chateau on Central in Phoenix. It is rare to see a 4-story home (with a finished basement) and 4-car garages in any part of Phoenix. When I say “special”, I mean SPECIAL! And a grateful thank you to Josh Hintzen with Realty One Group for allowing us to shoot at his listing. Very kind!
*The home is for sale, so please see below for showing information.
Before we explore, you may want to know what the theme is for this month. What are we “Threading” together in this issue of The Thread Talks? We are talking about taking different patterns together and unexpected mixes. (In a few weeks, part 2 will be an 80s theme. So, make sure you stay tuned!) Let’s start to explore this beautiful home with the opposites attract.
Talk about opposites...this house is FULL of patterns and designs that without an eye for interior design, it would never dawn on someone to put them together. It is an example of professional interior design at its finest...from level to level. And when you think it is finished...there is another level.
One of the levels is the master suite. Yes...I said one level! So, the whole floor is for the masters of the house. This includes a bedroom, closets, bathrooms, and sitting area. Each place has different patterns and colors working seamlessly together to be one cohesive space. The opposite patterns are found in the curtains, doors, pillows, and even the walls! It is a mix of unexpected that manages to still be comforting.

Threading it to fashion...we are showcasing two different themes. One is the unexpected patterns, and another is the unexpected trend of mixing high end with casual. We are seeing the high-end designers styling their beautiful dresses with tennis shoes. Tennis shoes! I bet Chanel or Valentino ever thought they would see beautiful gowns with Vans...but it seems to work. Comfort with beauty...talk about unexpected!

Next, we have two opposing patterns that just seem to work together. So don’t be afraid to put together a mix of prints. That is what your closet if for…to test it in private before wearing it in public. If you lay out same color schemes, patterns may surprise you and click together. Lay the pieces out to mix, match and have fun! Just make sure that if the patterns are bold enough the standout individually, they do not fight for attention when put together. It should be an even match-up.
