Personal is the one word I would describe fashion and interior design. What one person chooses to wear can be vastly different to another person. And from how someone chooses to decorate their home can vary greatly from the next-door neighbor’s décor. From personal experience of being a real estate broker, I can certainly tell you this is true. It is always a surprise going into someone else’s home for the first time…you never know what you are going to get.
So what is The Thread Talks? It is where we will explore the similarities on how we style ourselves to how we style a home. Two seemingly different things that have connections we never even think about when shopping. From colors and textures to lengths and fabrics, we will thread fashion and interior design together. The added bonus: You can shop for homes as well! Every month, we will be featuring a beautiful home for sale. You will LOVE the home coming up next time. It is spectacular!
This month on The Thread Talks, we are focusing on color. Why do we choose a certain color to wear or have in our homes? Why did you choose that orange top for that meeting or the blue pillow for your bed? There are psychological reasons why we make certain choices. Specifically with color…colors evoke an emotion. For instance: Red can be a sign of strength. So, you may have unconsciously chosen a red blouse for a important business meeting, not knowing it was because you wanted to come across as powerful.
Over the next few issues, we are focusing on the colors orange, yellow, and blue. What each color means when you wear it and use it in design. So, stay tuned and enjoy The Thread Talks!
